Support Engineer (Code: SPE)
Job Description
The position covers internal support needs and customer technical support at systems and application level.
Responsibilities
- Support of mission-critical applications that will include occasional 24/7 support duties
- Installation, administration, troubleshooting of computer and network HW/SW systems
- Communication with end-users, logging of issues, acting as a first line of support
- Manages systems to eliminate risk of data loss and abuse
- Follows applications configuration, deployment and support procedures as they are defined and suggests improvements when needed
- Provides all necessary documentation, assistance, and training concerning technical operations in response to needs of users
Skills and Experience
- Practical experience in MS Windows Server or Unix environment and MS SQL server or Oracle
- Practical experience in Web servers (Apache, IIS)
- Practical experience in SW configuration tools (Subversion, Ant)
- 1+ year experience in Systems Administration of MS Windows or Unix environments.
- Experience in clustering configurations would be considered as a plus
- Hands on, results driven, can-do attitude
- Analytical thinking and strong written and verbal communication skills both in English and Greek
- Excellent communication skills both in English and Greek
Education
- BSc, TEI, IEK or similar computer/engineering degree
- Engineering / C.S. Undergraduate or other technical school
