Implementation

Implementing a RIS-PACS solution to a health care services organization involves many steps that need to be taken with care to preserve total quality and ensure that all customer requirements are met. Depending on the type and size of the organization, Evorad follows the following implementation phases in one to three months:

Phase 1 – Requirements

  • Determine existing equipment and systems to identify reusable parts and system integration requirements (includes compatibility tests with modalities)
  • Perform functional requirements gathering and analysis to determine organization structure, management reporting needs and design the preferred workflow (includes user roles and access rights specification)
  • Specification of integration with existing systems (e.g. HIS) using HL7 messages or other protocols
  • Data migration requirements and feasibility study

Phase ΙΙ – Configuration

  • Data-entry of basic parameters (e.g. organization structure, exam categorization, equipment, etc) in cooperation with end-users
  • Connection with modalities and DICOM configuration
  • Custom reports and statistics development including business intelligence configuration
  • Workflow implementation according to the specifications formed during Phase I
  • Development of integration links with existing systems (e.g. HL7 messages to be exchanged with HIS)
  • User Acceptance Tests to ensure that the delivered system meets all end-user requirements and has been configured properly

Phase III – Deployment

  • Older data migration and verification
  • User training based on well-designed programs and related training material
  • Pilot operation to ensure that the solution meets end-user requirements in a production environment
