National Radiology Studies Repository

The National Radiology Studies Repository is the first solution of its kind implemented nationwide in Greece, giving patients secure, digital access to their radiology exams. Built on a certified zero-footprint viewer and advanced multi-level authentication, it sets a new standard for patient-centred, GDPR-compliant imaging access. The platform improves convenience for patients, reduces administrative workload for hospitals, and supports sustainability by minimizing physical media and in-person visits through the NEHR (National Electronic Health Record).

Key Features

  • Secure Patient Access – Patients view radiology exam results, images, and reports through a certified, GDPR-compliant web platform.
  • Remote Sharing & Downloads – Users securely share exams with healthcare providers anywhere, add comments, and download images in DICOM format.
  • Access to Exam History – Patients have a complete, longitudinal history of their hospital exams available at any time.
  • Multi-Level Authentication – Access is protected by national identification credentials (e.g. AMKA, TAXISnet), personal identification numbers, and one-time mobile password verification.
  • Automated Notifications – Email/SMS alerts let patients know as soon as new results are available.
  • Fewer Visits, Lower Footprint – Reduces in-person visits and physical media (CDs, films, printed reports), lowering both admin burden and environmental impact.

The National Radiology Studies Repository is built to make imaging access simple, secure, and scalable nationwide. See the full platform capabilities, security model, and integration approach.
